From a spatial perspective, our second step entails designing an adaptive dual attention network in which target pixels gather high-level features dynamically, evaluating the confidence of relevant data within varying receptive fields. The adaptive dual attention mechanism, in contrast to the single adjacency method, provides a more stable ability for target pixels to combine spatial information, resulting in decreased variation. Lastly, we developed a dispersion loss, with the classifier's viewpoint in mind. DNNs ought to prioritize focusing on pristine data points over those tainted by noise. With sample-weighting as our guide, we devise a meta-probability weighting (MPW) algorithm. The algorithm weights the output probabilities of DNNs to counter overfitting from noisy labels and reduce under-learning on the valid data points. Data-driven adaption of probability weights is accomplished by MPW using an approximation optimization, guided by a small, clean dataset, and this adaptation is achieved through an iterative optimization process between probability weights and network parameters, using meta-learning principles. MPW's efficacy in mitigating deep neural network overfitting to noisy labels and augmenting learning on pristine datasets is underscored by ablation experiments. Likewise, MPW demonstrates a performance level equivalent to current state-of-the-art methods for both synthetic and real-world noise.
Accurate histopathological image categorization is essential for the effectiveness of computer-aided diagnostics in medical settings. Histopathological classification benefits significantly from the use of magnification-based learning networks, which have gained considerable attention. However, the amalgamation of pyramidal histopathological image representations at various magnifications constitutes an unexplored area of study. The deep multi-magnification similarity learning (DSML) method, novelly presented in this paper, is intended to facilitate the interpretation of multi-magnification learning frameworks. This method provides an easy to visualize pathway for feature representation from low-dimensional (e.g., cellular) to high-dimensional (e.g., tissue) levels, alleviating the issues in understanding the propagation of information across different magnification levels. The system utilizes a similarity cross-entropy loss function designation to simultaneously ascertain the similarity of information across varying magnifications. Different network backbones and magnification settings were employed in experiments designed to assess DMSL's efficacy, with visualization used to investigate its ability to interpret. Our experiments leveraged two distinct histopathological data sets; one from clinical nasopharyngeal carcinoma cases and the other from the publicly available BCSS2021 breast cancer dataset. Comparing our classification method with others, the results illustrate a clear performance advantage, reflected in a greater AUC, accuracy, and F-score. While their practical application is promising, building these implementations depends on obtaining large-scale, annotated datasets, a process demanding substantial time and human resources. Subsequently, to minimize the cost of annotation significantly, this study presents a novel approach that allows for the deployment of deep learning techniques in ultrasound (US) image segmentation, needing only a few manually labeled samples. SegMix, a rapid and resourceful method, is presented, which leverages the segment-paste-blend principle to produce a large volume of annotated data points from a limited number of manually labeled instances. Sparse 3D reconstruction relies heavily on the capacity to detect and utilize local features present in different viewpoints. In the classical image matching approach, a single keypoint detection per image can be a source of poorly localized features, which can propagate significant errors to the final geometric output. Employing a direct alignment of low-level image data from multiple views, this paper enhances two critical stages within structure-from-motion. We first adjust the initial keypoint locations prior to geometric estimations and then refine the points and camera poses through a post-processing strategy. Large detection noise and changes in appearance are effectively mitigated by this refinement, which optimizes a feature-metric error using dense features output by a neural network. This substantial improvement in accuracy is particularly notable for camera poses and scene geometry across diverse keypoint detectors, demanding viewing scenarios, and pre-trained deep features.
