Papillary thyroid microcarcinoma is now addressed using less-invasive and less-aggressive management strategies. However, questions about these tumors' behavior remain significant, particularly in the tangible healthcare landscapes of developing countries. Our objective is to acquire understanding of the natural history of papillary thyroid microcarcinoma in Brazilian patients who underwent thyroidectomy. Detailed descriptions of clinical characteristics, interventions, and outcomes were given for each consecutive patient diagnosed with papillary thyroid microcarcinoma. Post-surgical and pre-surgical diagnoses distinguished patients as incidental or nonincidental, respectively. 257 patients were part of the study; 840% were women, and the average age was 483,135 years. Tumor size had a mean of 0.68026 centimeters. 30.4% were noted to be multifocal, 24.5% displayed cervical metastasis, and 0.4% exhibited distant metastases. Non-incidental tumors differed from incidental tumors regarding both tumor size (0.72024 cm versus 0.60028 cm, p=0.0003) and the presence of cervical metastasis (31.3% versus 11.9%, p<0.0001). The factors of male sex, non-incidental diagnosis, and younger age were found to be independent predictors of cervical metastasis. An interdisciplinary gathering of radiologists, cardiologists, pediatric cardiologists, and cardiothoracic surgeons, each a specialist in cardiovascular MR and CT imaging, participated in interdisciplinary consensus meetings at the University Hospital Cologne in 2018, invited by the German Society of Radiology's Cardiovascular Imaging working group. Templates for structured reporting, applicable to cardiac MR and CT scans of various cardiovascular diseases, were the subject of these meetings' development and approval.
Templates for structured CMR ischemia/vitality imaging reports, and templates for structured CT reports for TAVI planning (pre-TAVI CT) and coronary CT, were discussed, consented, and converted to a HTML 5/IHR MRRT-compatible format. This paper recommends the use of pre-approved German-language templates for consistent and structured reporting of cross-sectional cardiac magnetic resonance (CMR) imaging of ischemia and vitality, as well as pre-TAVI and coronary CT imaging. The implementation of these templates is intended to uphold high reporting standards, optimize report production processes, and ensure that imaging results are communicated in a clinically sound manner.
